





James Armstrong
Chairman of the Board
Jim Armstrong co-founded JDA Software in 1985 and serves as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Armstrong founded JDA Software Services Ltd. of Canada in 1978, which grew to be one of the largest Canadian IBM Midrange software firms. He sold the Canadian company in 1985 when he formed the U.S.-based JDA Software and then re-purchased it in 1996. Mr. Armstrong has previously held operations, programming, and management positions in varied business environments. He is a member of the Arizona State University Foundation Board of Trustees and studied engineering at Ryerson Polytechnic Institute in Toronto, Ontario. The Armstrong Family Foundations, founded in 1996 by Jim & Jo-Ann Armstrong, have donated over $5 million to more than 60 non-profit, educational and services organizations.
Wain Kellum
Wain Kellum brings a solid track record of success and over 25 years of experience to his role as CEO at Omnilink Systems. Most recently, Mr. Kellum served as President and CEO of Trusted Network Technologies (TNT), an innovative security hardware and software company. While at TNT, the company grew revenues rapidly on a comparative basis and repositioned itself as a leading vendor of virtualized security solutions. He also served as CEO of nuBridges, a leading provider of eBusiness Community Management solutions. During his tenure at nuBridges, the company went from a pre-revenue company to a profitable and growing leader in its industry segment. Prior to nuBridges, Mr. Kellum was co-founder, chairman and CEO of Extreme Logic, a professional services firm focused on the development and delivery of Microsoft-enabled IT solutions. In 2001, Microsoft took a preferred equity position in Extreme Logic, and in 2003 the company was acquired by Hewlett-Packard, forming the foundation of HP’s applications solution business in the Americas. Mr. Kellum also gained experience as a business strategist for Dun & Bradstreet Software, as a manufacturing consultant for Ernst & Young, and in sales for Management Science America, Inc. (MSA). He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with honors from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from Georgia State University. He also completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School.
Stephen Fredrick
Steve Fredrick is a General Partner at Grotech Capital Group, which he joined in 2005. At Grotech, Mr. Fredrick focuses on investment opportunities in the software, communications, and IT services sectors. Mr. Fredrick has been actively involved with several portfolio companies including Hillcrest Labs. Prior to joining Grotech, he was a Partner with Novak Biddle Venture Partners investing in early stage software and communications equipment companies. Mr. Fredrick previously co-founded a software development firm and worked for a venture-funded software startup until it was acquired. He spent his early career at IBM in research and development roles. Mr. Fredrick graduated, Magna Cum Laude, from Virginia Tech with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering. He has served for several years as an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.
Frank Pinto
Frank Pinto is a general partner of Merchantbanc Growth Partners, II, a growth capital private equity fund in New England. He is also a managing member of the general partner for Penn Ventures, LLC, a growth capital equity fund in Pennsylvania licensed by the US Small Business Administration. Mr. Pinto has over 25 years of entrepreneurial and investment experience. He has been the CEO of the state of Massachusetts venture capital fund, a partner at Boston Millennia Partners, a $700mm venture capital fund and the founder and CEO of two private companies. Mr. Pinto has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BA from Middlebury College.
Dendy Young
Dendy Young is the Managing Partner of McLean Capital, LLC, a private equity firm based in McLean, VA focused on government information technology. From January 1996 to February 2006, Mr. Young was Chief Executive Officer of GTSI Corp. (NASDAQ: GTSI) an enterprise services and solutions provider. Additionally, he served as Chairman of the Board from 1998 until May 2007. Prior to GTSI, Mr. Young served as Chief Executive Officer of Falcon Microsystems, Inc., the second of two companies he founded and sold between 1981 and 1994. In less than 10 years, Falcon Microsystems grew to be a nationally recognized, multi-platform federal reseller and integrator before being sold to GTSI in August 1994. Mr. Young holds a S.B. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
